Fortunately, a determined will power, and some tips and simple techniques, anyone can have the motivation to study. Here are some tips that can help anyone feel more motivated to get the books.
Establish a schedule of study and at the right time
Set a daily study time. It’s good to plan your day in advance. Set a specific time to study, and a time to play or rest.
Start with five minutes challenge
The hardest part of doing something is to begin. The first step is always the hardest. But once I got out of the way, is all downhill. This is because it is much easier to hold something when you have momentum. To help you get started, this is what you can do, since they do not want to study, plan to study only 5 minutes. That’s all, just 5 minutes. They say you are going to study seriously for 5 minutes and then stop. This makes things seem less painful it is easier to start.
Start / stop the fun part
Having to stop for breaks, meals or other activities, the plan to stop when you are a fun part. The parts are more interesting and enjoyable. This is so that when you go to school later will be much easier to get because it will be from the fun parts.
Eliminate distractions in your environment
When you have a TV, phone, computer, clothes, magazines and so close, you’ll easily tempted to throw the books aside. Try to eliminate distractions as much as possible. When the remote is right next to you, you are more likely to get it.
Targets set
When a target goal, we will be more determined to increase the challenge and strive to achieve. That’s why goal setting will increase their levels of motivation. The feeling of satisfaction that comes from achieving the goal is also a confidence booster.
If we look towards our Education system, there are many unveiled reasons
behind the de-motivation and poor academic performance of
students. If we’ll prepare educated human in our society in advance by providing proper education facilities to our younger generation, then we could move towards the path of success. In the attempt to improve school results, the teacher educators and education counselor are trying their level best to find the roots of poor academic achievement of school students. Educational Psychologist has also developed many tests, to judge and improve the skills of students, but the real cause has not been founded till date, that what makes the student frustrated to back out of education so easily?
Might be it’s the fault of Ministry of Education to develop lack of
integrated curriculum and wrong dimensional policies or it might be the fault of a teacher, whose teaching style is not appropriate to the age level students they teach, or its the problem of Learning Disability in a child. The main contributing factors that lead to low learning proficiency of students according to my experience as a teacher are as follows
1. Incomprehension of the Studying Purpose
2. Lack of integrated Curriculum
3. Teachers Fault
4. Wrong Assessment Process
5. Wrong attitude of parents
There are many parents, who tells their child in advance that they have
to join their fathers or forefathers business after passing school,
which also makes student less motivated to perform well in examination
and thus, poor performance is seen in the results, just because of the
wrong impression embossed by parents on their children.
The main reason why so many students don’t feel interested in what they
are doing at school, is the incomprehension of their studying routine.
A vast majority of private and government teachers are not even
bothered to explain to their students what the learning outcomes are,
why they need to achieve them and how they will be assessed.
